HBO’s vampire drama “True Blood” is making a comeback – but not on the screen. Alan Ball’s often campy and deliciously fun Louisiana vampire series is being developed into a musical.
Book and lyrics for the piece are reportedly being written by novelist Elizabeth Scott while Nathan Barr, who worked on the music for the series, will handle the music. No news on the specific story or characters to be included.
The series, which was based on Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, ran from 2008 to 2014 and starred the likes of Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten.
