Showtime, Netflix and Hulu have all entered a bidding war to exclusively distribute a new batch of “Arrested Development” episodes reports Vulture.
Plans for the limited run series were revealed on Sunday and are said to be serving as a lead in for a film continuing the adventures of the Bluth clan. Pay cable network Showtime and online streaming service Netflix quickly expressed interest with Hulu now joining the fray.
Hulu has reportedly gotten 100 million streaming impressions for ‘Arrested’ related clips & episodes since it began in 2008, and that’s despite the show being off the air since 2006.
Seeing as this mini-series and the movie would be shot together, much of the physical production costs are expected to be split between whoever gets the show and the movie studio.
