Trier’s “Louder Than Bombs” Film Scrapped

“Reprise” and “Oslo, August 31st” director Joachim Trier’s first English-language feature, “Louder Than Bombs,” has been postponed indefinitely.

Norwegian production outfit Motlys has reportedly failed to provide the full financing for the $6.6 million Norwegian-Danish-French-US co-production.

Isabelle Huppert, Gabriel Byrne and Jesse Eisenberg were attached to star in the project which was to begin shooting around a month from now in the United States and Germany.

Huppert would play a famous, late war photographer. On the eve of a retrospective of work, some three years after her untimely death, her husband (Byrne) and sons (Eisenberg plays one) discover an unsettling secret from her past.

A statement from those involved claim they “are confident that the project will be realised in the near future”.
