Treadaway Replaces Yelchin On “Mr. Mercedes”

David E. Kelley’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s 2014 novel “Mr. Mercedes” is moving forward with “Penny Dreadful” alum Harry Treadaway replacing the late Anton Yelchin.

The story follows Brady Hartsfield, a mentally deranged ice cream truck driver and IT worker who is secretly the demented serial murderer named ‘The Mercedes Killer’ (Treadway).

The killer taunts a retired police detective (Brendan Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring him to justice.

The project received a straight-to-series order a month before Yelchin’s death.
