John Travolta is returning to the small screen for his first TV series gig since “Welcome Back, Kotter”. Travolta is set to play lawyer Robert Shapiro in FX’s highly anticipated “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson”.
Following the format of creator Ryan Murphy’s other FX show, “American Horror Story,” this ten-episode first instalment in the “American Crime Story” anthology series will explore the O.J. Simpson trial and the media circus that surrounded it.
Travolta joins a cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, and David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian.
No word yet on who’ll play Johnnie Cochran, F. Lee Bailey, Judge Lance Ito, memorable witness Brian ‘Kato’ Kaelin, or the victims Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman. Filming begins in Los Angeles later this year.
