Scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari, who spent half a year working on production re-writes of Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man,” have joined the ‘brain trust’ of scribes at Paramount Pictures that are planning sequels, prequels and spinoffs of the “Transformers” franchise.
Deadline reports that one of the ideas in the works is going by the name “Transformers One” and is essentially an origin story about Cybertron, the planet where the robots hail from. Said project may well be an animated one.
Barrer & Ferrari are reportedly going into the writer’s room with the expectation that they will write a live action “Transformers” movie, but so far the team has not made much headway on specific projects.
The pair join a group lead by Akiva Goldsman and includes scribes such as Robert Kirman, Jeff Pinkner, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway.
