“Transformers 5” Filming At Familiar “Potter” Location

We know that Michael Bay’s upcoming “Transformers: The Last Knight” will take the franchise in a new direction with at least part of the story set in the past and involving iconic characters like King Arthur (Liam Garrigan) and Merlin (Santiago Cabrera).

Now some new set photos from this fifth entry in the series are up at The Daily Mail and boast two of the film’s stars, Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Hopkins, shooting at a location familiar to fans of the “Harry Potter” franchise – Alnwick Castle in Northumbria.

The castle was used in several exterior shots to represent Hogwarts in the first two “Harry Potter” movies and has also been seen in the likes of 1998’s “Elizabeth” and the TV series “Downton Abbey”. Here it will tie in with the King Arthur elements of the story. Filming is taking place in castle grounds through this weekend, and another report indicates special effects team shot two different explosion shots with drones.

Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Stanley Tucci are also returning for the new film which is slated to be released next June.
