Last year came word that filmmaker Martin Scorsese was teaming with his two most famous muses – Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio – for the short film “The Audition,” essentially a promotional bit for billion-dollar casinos in both the Chinese protectorate of Macau and the Philippines capital of Manila.
Today, trailers for the short film for both establishments – The City of Dreams Manila and Studio City Macau – have gone online. The ads essentially play up that DiCaprio and De Niro haven’t worked together yet and unfortunately they still aren’t, the pair are competing for the same role in Scorsese’s next. It’s a cute bit, though Brad Pitt’s appearance in the short isn’t shown.
Brett Ratner and James Packer’s RatPac Entertainment produced “The Audition” which isn’t a surprise as Australian media mogul Packer also owns the Crown Resorts Limited chain which has a significant stake in Melco Crown Entertainment Limited, the company that owns both resorts.

The global premiere of the film will take place at the launch of Studio City in mid-2015.
