A couple of key trailers have popped up today starting with “The Endless,” the new film from “Resolution” and “Spring” directors Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead which premiered at Tribeca earlier this year.
The two filmmakers play brothers who return to the cult that they escaped as children only to find some truly bizarre goings on. The film doesn’t have a release date from distributor Well Go USA as yet.
The Orchard has released the first trailer for “Creep 2,” the follow-up to Mark Duplass and director Patrick Brice’s 2015 thriller which only featured two cast members – both of them. Duplass returns for the follow-up and encounters someone (Desiree Akhavan) with a much different background than his previous victims. “Creep 2” hits all digital platforms on October 24th.
Next is the trailer for documentary filmmaker Brett Morgen (“The Kid Stays In The Picture,” “Chicago 10”) and his project about famed “Gorillas in the Mist” conservationist Jane Goodall whose pioneering work and research into chimpanzees gave the animals a necessary voice and champion.
The film features a score by Philip Glass and is drawn from over 100 hours of never-before-seen footage that’s been tucked away in the National Geographic archives for over fifty years. “Jane” opens on October 20th.
Finally there’s a quick new promo for Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing” starring Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig. Following a film festival run with strong, but no unanimously gushing reviews, the intriguing high-concept sci-fi film opens at Christmas.
