Trailer: Sebastian Lelio’s “A Fantastic Woman”

Back in 2013, Chilean filmmaker Sebastian Lelio broke out at Berlinale with the much acclaimed and award-winning “Gloria” about a free-spirited older woman in Santiago and her relationship with a former sailor.

Now Lelio is back with his second film, “A Fantastic Woman,” which follows a transgender woman who becomes the center of a storm that swirls when her notably older lover suddenly passes away. Finding herself shunned by his family and suspected by the cops, this side-lined woman insists on her right to grieve.

Daniela Vega, Francisco Reyes, Luis Gnecco, Aline Kuppenheim, Nicolas Saavedra, Amparo Noguera, Nestor Cantillana, Alejandro Goic, Antonia Zegers, and Sergio Hernandez star in the film which premieres at the Berlin Film Festival shortly and is currently seeking U.S. distribution.
