Netflix has premiered the first trailer for Icelandic director Olaf de Fleur’s new horror film “Malevolent”.
An adaptation of the Eva Konstantopoulos novel “Hush,” the story follows brother and sister team Angela (Florence Pugh) and Jackson (Ben Lloyd-Hughes), a pair of scam artists, preying on the grief stricken and the vulnerable.
Their con of convincing people Angela can convince the dead works well until a Mrs. Green (Celia Imrie) invites them to her home — a former orphanage where a string of murders of young girls occurred in the past.
As the two continue their investigation, Angela grows less sure of what’s real, with the two suffering a reality check when they are confronted by the true horrors and terrifying past of the haunted orphanage. The Glasgow-shot film hits the service this Friday.
