Trailer: First-Person Shot “Hardcore”

One genre film getting talked about a lot this week at the Toronto International Film Festival is the Canadian sci-fi action film “Hardcore” and the first trailer has arrived.

Russian filmmaker Ilya Naishuller penned and directs while “Wanted” helmer Timur Bekmambetov produces the film which boasts explosions, nudity, psychic powers and all sorts of funny craziness.

The big conceit of the film though is that it was shot entirely from a first-person perspective – making it akin to a live-action video game. The film has yet to secure a U.S. release date.

Set in Moscow, the story follows a man who has been resurrected as a cyborg. When his wife (Haley Bennett) gets kidnapped by a psychotic megalomaniac (Danila Kozlovsky) with telekinetic powers and his own personal army, said man has to get her back with the help of a mysterious British fellow (Sharlto Copley).
