Following the success of the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s third novel “Gone Girl,” it’s no surprise that anticipation is high for the film adaptation of her second book “Dark Places”.
Gilles Paquet-Brenner helms the thriller starring Charlize Theron as a woman whose mother and sisters were brutally murdered when she was a seven year old child. At the time her testimony put the blame on her sixteen-year-old brother who was sent to prison for life.
Twenty-five years later and broke, she ends up reluctantly helping out a group of true-crime aficionados led by Lyle (Nicholas Hoult) who believe her brother is innocent and the real killer is still at large. As they look into that night again, she begins to confront the wrenching truths that led up to that horrific night.
Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan and Chloe Grace Moretz also star in the film which hits cinemas on August 7th and is now available on DIRECTV for an exclusive one month window.
