Trailer Branagh Is Shakespeare In All Is True

Sony Pictures Classics has premiered the trailer for “All Is True,” filmmaker Kenneth Branagh’s new film in which he directs and stars as a retired William Shakespeare who has returned to Stratford after the Globe Theater burns to the ground.

Haunted by the death of his son Hamnet, he must re-examine the broken relationships and examine his own failings as husband and father. His very personal search for the truth uncovers secrets and lies within a family at war.

The project marks also the first original drama effort from comedian and celebrated scribe Ben Elton (“Blackadder,” “Stark,” “Three Summers,” “The Young Ones”). Judi Dench and Ian McKellen co-star in the film which gets a limited release in L.A. on December 21st.
