Aside from Jack and Chloe, the most frequent player on the long-running “24” was Carlos Bernard’s Tony Almeida. A series regular for the first four of its eight seasons, and a major recurring player in the fifth and seventh.
Now, Bernard has signed on to reprise his signature role as Tony Almeida on a recurring basis in FOX’s upcoming “24: Legacy” reboot. On the series his character was last seen being sent to jail, but a short film made two years ago for the “24: Live Another Day” Blu-ray chronicled his time in prison and efforts to break out.
Bernard marks the first “24” veteran to join the ‘Legacy’ cast which centers on a former Army Ranger (Corey Hawkins) who, upon returning to the U.S., turns to the CTU for help in saving his life. “24: Legacy” will debut after Super Bowl 51 on Sunday, February 5th.
