Tom Hardy has reportedly dropped out of Takashi Miike’s English language feature “The Outsider”.
Mid-last year came word that Hardy was scheduled to star in the project penned by Andrew Baldwin. Set in post-World War II Japan, the story follows an American former prisoner-of-war who rises in the yakuza.
Pre-production was in full swing and has now been put on hold. Due to Miike’s crowded scheduling, Hardy’s departure means Miike also has to drop out of the film so the search for both a new director and actor is on.
