Tom Cruise’s “Mummy” Reboot Gets Delayed

Universal Pictures has pushed back the release of its reboot of “The Mummy” by three months. Originally slated for March 24th 2017, it will now open June 9th of that year opposite “World War Z 2” and the final film in the “Divergent” series.

Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella are confirmed to star in the action-adventure which hopes to serve as the launching pad of a cinematic universe starring the classic Universal monsters line-up including Dracula, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Van Helsing.

Alex Kurtzman directs from a script by Jon Spaihts. Kurtzman, Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel will produce.
