Tom Cruise Heads For “Witchita”

Tom Cruise already has a half dozen projects in the works, now he’s added one more – the action/comedy “Witchita” over at 20th Century Fox reports Variety.

Cruise will play a secret agent who pops in and out of the life of a single woman (Cameron Diaz). Cruise and Diaz, who previously were seen together in “Vanilla Sky”, are in advanced negotiations and have approved the script.

James Mangold (“3:10 to Yuma”) will direct the film which is aiming for a release next Summer.

Other projects Cruise has been linked with recently include David Cronenberg’s Robert Ludlum-adaptation “The Matarese Circle”, Hardy Boys comedy update “The Hardy Men” with Ben Stiller, Bharat Nalluri’s remake of “The Tourist”, Len Wiseman’s “Motorcade”, and Susanne Bier’s rom-com “Lost for Words”.
