Tom Cruise has dropped out of starring in the big screen adaptation of 1960s spy series “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The long in-development project originally had George Clooney was attached to star and Steven Soderbergh directing. Both talents dropped out, at which point Guy Ritchie and then Cruise came onboard.
Cruise’s departure is said to be due to his commitment to a fifth “Mission: Impossible” which is aiming to shoot later this year. Both Ritchie and actor Armie Hammer remains attached to “U.N.C.L.E.” for now.
