Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Gets A TV Series

Tom Clancy’s iconic literary creation and cinematic hero Jack Ryan is set to return, albeit this time on the small screen.

“Lost” co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland are teaming with Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes, Skydance Media and Paramount TV for a drama series based on Clancy’s novels.

Conceived by Cuse and Roland based on Clancy’s novels, the show won’t be a direct adaptation but rather a new contemporary take on the character during his days as a CIA analyst following in the wake of his accident and recovery that sidelined him from the Navy.

Roland, Cuse, Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Lindsey Springer will executive produce. There has been a lot of interest in the project, with multiple outlets apparently bidding.

Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine have all tackled the role in five different films over the past twenty five years.
