TNT is falling for the Bard as the basic cable channel has picked up “Will,” a young William Shakespeare drama, to series. Ahead of its upfront presentation, the network announced that “Will” has scored a ten episode order and have released a trailer for the series which you can see below.
Laurie Davidson, a complete newcomer with no IMDb credits at this point, stars in the series as the poet who arrives onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London. Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower and Ewen Bremner co-star.
Billed as a contemporary version of Shakespeare’s life that is played to a modern soundtrack, the project is penned by Baz Luhrmann’s scripting collaborator Craig Pearce and directed by “Elizabeth” helmer Shekhar Kapur.
A 2017 premiere is planned and will joined TNT’s roster of existing shows like “Major Crimes,” “The Librarians,” “The Last Ship” and “Murder in the First” along with new shows on the way including “Animal Kingdom,” “The Alienist,” “Good Behavior,” “Civil,” and “Tales from the Crypt”.
