One of the already announced cast members for the upcoming film adaptation of the Marvel comic “Deadpool” is that of T.J. Miller. However, the comedic actor’s role was unknown up until this point.
Today, in a social media posting, Miller suggest that he is playing Deadpool’s sidekick Weasel and is getting quite thin for the role. In the comics, Weasel is an information broker and an arms dealer who serves as a key element in the life of Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds).
The posting follows comments from the film’s star Ryan Reynolds the other day who says that the new film should please even the most diehard and judgemental fanboys. He tells Shortlist:
“I’m incredibly happy about it – we’ve got a director that understands that world, and writers with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character. That’s the most important aspect: it’s made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that’s the hope.”
The new “Deadpool” film hits cinemas on February 12th 2016.
