Warner Bros. Pictures will decide by the end of next weekend whether to release Louis Leterrier’s upcoming action fantasy remake “Clash of the Titans” in 3D reports Heat Vision.
A test has already been ordered and the studio will screen the converted scenes next week before deciding whether to make the move. Unlike say “Avatar” which was shot in 3D, ‘Clash’ will undergo 2D-to-3D conversion being used by such upcoming films as Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and Joss Whedon’s “Cabin in the Woods”.
The surprise here is the timing – the film is set for release March 26th and will stick to that date, which means the usual lengthy conversion process will be quickened (likely at considerable expense). The film will also go into competition for 3D theatres against Dreamworks’ animated feature “How to Train Your Dragon 3D” which opens the same day.
