“Titans” Gets Negative Man, “Constantine” Sets Date

Dwain Murphy (“Star Trek: Discovery,” “The Strain”) has been cast as Larry Trainor, aka the heavily bandaged Negative Man, in the upcoming direct-to-streaming DC TV series “Titans” reports Den of Geek.

Trainor is a former pilot who gained strange ‘negative energy’ powers after a plane crash, and was one of the founding members of the Doom Patrol which includes The Chief (Bruno Bichir), Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) and Robotman (Jake Michaels). DC chief Geoff Johns previously confirmed the appearance of the Doom Patrol on the series.

The group first appears on the fifth episode, starring alongside the show’s main cast which includes Brenton Thwaites’ Robin, Teagan Croft’s Raven, Anna Diop’s Starfire, Ryan Potter’s Beast Boy and Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly’s Hawk and Dove. “Titans” debuts on DC’s still unnamed streaming service sometime in 2018.

Meanwhile a Saturday March 24th premiere date has been set for “Constantine,” CW Seed’s upcoming animated series based on the popular DC Comics character.

Matt Ryan, who played the character in live-action form on both NBC’s short-lived series and in The CW’s Arrow-verse shows, voices the master of the occult. David S. Goyer, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter serve as executive producers.
