Tinker Scribe To Adapt “The Goldfinch”

Warner Bros. and RatPac Entertainment have hired Peter Straughan (“Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”) to pen an adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “The Goldfinch”.

The story takes place over two decades and follows a thirteen-year-old boy who loses his mother in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

He survives the explosion, steals the Carel Fabritius painting the Goldfinch, gets taken in by an Upper East Side family and eventually reunites with his alcoholic gambling addict father.

Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Ratner are producing.
