“Timeless” Cancelled Again By NBC

Saved mere days after cancellation last year, the beloved Sony Pictures Television Studios-produced time-travel drama “Timeless” has been cancelled for a second time by NBC. The studio and network are, however, reportedly continuing talks for a potential two-hour movie to wrap up the finale cliffhanger.

Brainchild of “The Shield” creator Shawn Ryan and “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke, “Timeless” averages a 1.2 in the key adults 18-49 demo and nearly five million total viewers with seven days of delayed viewing and has maintained a loyal and vocal fanbase.

Sony TV chief Jeff Frost previously said they had begun preliminary discussions about finding a potential new home for the drama should NBC pass on a third-season pickup, however, Sony gave up a 50% ownership stage to NBC’s Universal Television last year in order to get the second season renewal.
