SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “GAME OF THRONES” EPISODE 6.02
The big question left by the fifth season finale of HBO’s major fantasy series “Game of Thrones” has finally been answered.
Following months of evading questions about his character’s fate, Kit Harington has finally broken his silence about the return of Jon Snow to the land of the living at the end of the series’ most recent episode “Home”.
Speaking as part of a cover story for EW, Harington apologises for having to lie about his character’s fate:
“I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing – or the show is doing – is right.”
Harington endured a televised lie detection test and suggesting he only returned for a few scenes as a corpse. Other cast members were in on the ruse as well.
