“Game of Thrones,” “Luther” and “The Last Witch Hunter” actress Rose Leslie has joined the cast of the upcoming “The Good Wife” spin-off for CBS All Access.
Leslie will take on a series regular role in the project as Maia, the goddaughter of Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). She joins Diane’s firm just after passing the bar and is a key part of Diane’s plan for the future.
The still-untitled spinoff will center around an enormous financial scam that has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, while simultaneously wiping out Diane’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, Diane joins one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.
Leslie marks the fourth casting on the show following returnees Baranski, Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn and Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold. The Kings, who created the original series, came onboard as showrunners last month and will join Phil Alden Robinson and Ridley Scott as executive producers.
The ten-episode first season is slated to premiere in February.
