Yesterday’s release of the trailer for the sixth season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” has broken records.
The clip has been viewed thirty million times within its first 24 hours, beating the previous HBO high of twenty-seven million for the season four trailer released January 2014.
The record isn’t a surprise, the sixth season of the fantasy drama marks the first season to bypass George R.R. Martin’s books that serve as the basis for the series – meaning everyone watching the show from this point on, be they readers of the books or not, will be in the same boat.
The new season kicks off on April 24th.
