The highly prestigious 71st Annual Peabody Awards took place this week with thirty-eight recipients announced.
Amongst the winners were TV shows, documentaries, news reports and websites – all recognised for being the best in electronic media for the year 2011.
“Game of Thrones,” “Homeland,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Portlandia” and “Treme” were the five fictional TV series which were recognised. “The Colbert Report” also got honoured for its inspired satirising of the Super PAC issue.
Numerous PBS documentaries, special reports on CNN and National Public Radio, and even websites BBC.co.uk and TED.com scored notices. The full list of winners can be found here.
