A new casting report has offered apparent character breakdowns of three key new roles in the third season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” which begins production in the next few months.
Reportedly only three recurring guest star roles are being added for the season (for now) and follow on from the likes of Paul Reiser’s Dr. Owens, Sean Astin’s Bob Newby, Dacre Montgomery’s Billy Hargrove, and Sadie Sink as Maxine Mayfield who all joined in the second season. New characters include:
Mayor Larry Kline
Male, 40s-60s. A 1980s style slick politician, pathetic and driven only by self-interest.
A morally compromised news reporter in his 50s. Outwardly sexist, overweight and bedraggled.
Female, 70s. A sweet neighborhood elder who tends to her garden and offers her advice to the local kids.
The new season is slated to begin production in the Spring ahead of an early 2019 premiere.
