Three Join “Han Solo” Female Lead Race

While they confirmed Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo a few months back, Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm are continuing on with casting on the second ‘A Star Wars Story’ anthology feature. The female lead role is the next big part that has to be locked in and three names have joined the fray.

Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road), Naomi Scott (“Terra Nova,” “Lemonade Mouth”) and Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Thor: Ragnarok”) have reportedly all read for the undisclosed role which is rumored to be Sana Starros, a former cohort of Han’s who initially claimed to be his wife in the recent Marvel “Star Wars” comic book series.

Another key part is a young Lando Calrissian with “Community” and “Atlanta” star Donald Glover reportedly the frontrunner for the part. Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan are penning the screenplay which follows how young Han became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.

The film is currently targeting a May 25th 2018 release.
