Three Identical Strangers To Be Remade

“Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Darkest Hour” screenwriter Anthony McCarten is set to both pen and produce a narrative film based on celebrated 2018 documentary “Three Identical Strangers” at Raw, Film4 and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Set in New York and Long Island, the doco told the fascinating true story of Robert Shafran, David Kellman and Eddy Galland, three complete strangers who inadvertently discover that they are identical triplets separated at birth.

When the joyous reunion catapults them to international fame, it also sets a chain of extraordinary and disturbing events in motion. The film won the Sundance Film Festival’s Special Jury Prize for documentary storytelling and grossed over $12 million in the United States along with winning multiple awards.

McCarten, Katherine Butler, Dimitri Doganis, Sidney Kimmel and John Penotti will produce.
