Billy Bob Thornton is set to co-write and direct an “ethereal” road movie “And Then We Drove” for AR Films and Media Talent Group says Variety.
The story follows a man on a road trip who picks up a girl along the way with stops in Los Angeles, the South and the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona.
The film is said to be partly inspired by Thornton’s wild and well-documented relationship with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
Thornton and his longtime writing partner Tom Epperson are scripting with a first draft due in March ahead of shooting later this year. Alexander Rodnyansky and Geyer Kosinski will produce.
