Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci and Fionn Whitehead are set to star in the Richard Eyre-directed “The Children Act” for FilmNation Entertainment and BBC Films.
An adaptation of “Atonement” author Ian McEwan’s novel, the story follows Thompson as Fiona Maye – an eminent judge in London presiding with wisdom and compassion over ethically complex cases of family law.
The high workload however has seen her pay a heavy personal price with her marriage to American professor Jack (Tucci) at breaking point. McEwan has adapted the script while Duncan Kenworthy will produce.
Filming will take place on location in London from mid-October.
