With Disney’s “Cinderella” adaptation opening to big business this past week, Disney is looking to take over the release slot for future movies. To that effect, they’ve slotted in Bill Condon’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast” adaptation for March 17th 2017.
At the same time, two more names have jumped onboard the film – Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts and Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice. The pair join the previously cast Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Prince/Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou.
Condon is directing from a script by Stephen Chbosky. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing and filming begins in May at Shepperton Studios in London.
