Third “Kickboxer” Film Gets A Title, Start Date

Ahead of the first film’s release this weekend, producer Rob Hickman has spilled the beans on the third film in the new “Kickboxer” film trilogy reboot.

Alain Moussi replaces Jean-Claude Van Damme as the new Kurt Sloane while Van Damme steps into the role of Kurt’s mentor Durand in the films which begin with “Kickboxer: Vengeance” this weekend in limited release and on iTunes.

Talking at the premiere in Los Angeles this week, Hickman confirms the sequel “Kickboxer: Retaliation” has already wrapped shooting with plans for the third film going forward. Titled “Kickboxer: Syndicate,” the project will begin shooting in February with Moussi and Van Damme likely to return.

No word on supporting cast members at this point – Dave Bautista, Gina Carano, and Georges St-Pierre are in ‘Vengeance’ while Mike Tyson, Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson, Brian Shaw, and Hafþor Julíus Bjornsson (aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones) are in ‘Retaliation’.
