A year after the release of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” a film which nabbed both good reviews and over $1 billion at the worldwide box-office, the next film in the series (the third overall following last year’s and the original 1995 film) is gearing up to shoot imminently.
Production Weekly reports the next “Jumanji” will begin filming January 21st with a three-month shoot to take place in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Canada that will wrap April 26th. It’s not clear if Hawaii will once again serve as a location in the new film like it was for a significant part of the first.
Dwayne Johnson has confirmed he’ll return in the upcoming sequel while Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are also expected to reprise their roles from the 2017 movie. Nick Jonas’ involvement is unknown.
The next “Jumanji” is currently scheduled for release on December 13th next year.
