Third “Apes” Film To Start With “War”

We’ve had the ‘Rise’ and the ‘Dawn,’ and today the title of “War of the Planet of the Apes” has reportedly been rumored for the third movie in 20th Century Fox’s rebooted “Planet of the Apes” series.

Collider first reported the title for the film which is currently targeting a July 14th 2017 release. It certainly matches with not just the ending of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” but also that film’s original ending which suggested an armed force was coming to San Francisco and a human vs. ape full-scale war was to begin.

‘Dawn’ director Matt Reeves has previously said that next film is about how Caesar becomes “the seminal figure for ape history. [It’s] like myth ascension, him becoming the ape Moses, for lack of a better sort of character to model him after.” Reeves is slated to helm the next film as well.
