Max Thierot (“Jumper”) will replace Henry Lee Hopper as the lead in Wes Craven’s horror thriller “25/8” for Rogue Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
Hopper was to make his screen debut as one of seven teens haunted by a killer who supposedly died when they were born, but the actor contracted mononucleosis (aka. glandular fever) forcing him to pull out of the film. Craven couldn’t delay the project because of the possible actors strike.
John Magaro will play Thierot’s comic sidekick and beat out teen star Jesse McCartney for his role. Raul Esparza is in talks to play the film’s serial killer, whilst Nick Lashaway will play a bully and Paulina Olszynski will play a popular beauty.
Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade also star. Shooting begins this month in Connecticut.
