“The Leftovers” actor Justin Theroux is in negotiations to join the cast of the film adaptation of the best-seller “The Girl on the Train” for DreamWorks.
Theroux’s character will replace a role actor Chris Evans was up for in the film, but had to pull out from due to a scheduling conflict.
Blunt, Leto, Ferguson, Bennett and Ramirez all remain attached to the story about a woman (Blunt) who becomes fascinated by a seemingly perfect couple whose home she passes while riding the train.
One day she thinks she witnesses a murder, and soon begins to realize that she may have been involved in the crime. Theroux will play Tom, her ex-husband. Marc Platt is producing.
