Author J.K. Rowling has announced that “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the first of the upcoming “Harry Potter” spin-offs, will not be the start of a trilogy after all.
Instead the author revealed, during a fan screening and cast Q&A that was broadcast live on the film franchise’s Facebook page today, that right now the plan is for a total of five movies.
Rowling penned the screenplay for the first and has already done much of the work on the sequel due for 2018. That film will be set in “an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.”
Also revealed today is a brand-new featurette boasting a whole bunch of new footage and story details about the new film. The first “Fantastic Beasts” is currently slated for a November 18th release.
