Taron Egerton (“Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Eddie the Eagle”), Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail Caesar”), Jack O’Connell (“Starred Up”), Blake Jenner (“Everybody Wants Some”) and Jack Reynor (“Transformers: Age of Extinction”) have reportedly emerged as the key candidates in consideration to play a younger version of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s upcoming “Star Wars” spin-off film.
Tests were reportedly conducted in London last weekend that involved all those actors. Sources say there could be a few other names on the list, but due to the high level of secrecy those were not ascertained.
Those who did test were narrowed down from a previous group of around ten actors who met for the part, a list that included Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller. Emory Cohen (“Brooklyn”) is also said to have tested at one point.
Disney and Lucasfilm of course has not commented on the reports, but they’re reportedly considered more than 2,500 actors for the part in the film which is scheduled for a 2018 release.
