The Wrestler Dominates Spirit Awards

“The Wrestler”, Darren Aronofsky’s stunning drama about a washed-out former pro-wrestler was the most criminally overlooked film of this year’s Oscar nominations.

Thankfully it got some revenge last night, winning the Best Actor, but Best Cinematography and Best Feature award at the Independent Spirit Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Also faring well with two awards a piece were 2008 Sundance winner “Frozen River,” Gus Van Sant’s “Milk,” Woody Allen’s “Vicky Christina Barcelona” and Charlie Kaufman’s “Synecdoche, New York”. Here’s the full list below:
