The “Uncharted” Movie Set For Dec 2020

Sony Pictures has dated “Uncharted,” the film adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game series, for a release on December 18th 2020.

The date news comes after the project has spent many years in development, going through various different incarnations with numerous actors and directors coming and going.

“Spider-Man” star Tom Holland will lead the film as a young and just starting out treasure hunter Nathan Drake, years before the events of the games.

Dan Trachtenberg is slated to helm the film from a script by Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker. Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producing.

The news comes as Sony has also delayed “Escape Room 2” to August 14th 2020, the Kevin Hart dramedy “Fatherhood” to April 3rd 2020, and Kay Cannon’s musical comedy take on “Cinderella” starring Camila Cabello to February 5th 2021.
