AMC has set an August 12th premiere date for the ten-episode second season of its horror anthology series “The Terror”. Additionally, the first batch of photos from the new episodes has arrived.
“The Terror: Infamy” is set during World War II and follows a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible. Derek Mio, Kiki Sukezane, Cristina Rodlo, Shingo Usami, Naoko Mori, Miki Ishikawa and the one and only George Takei star.
Alexander Woo and Max Borenstein executive produce with Woo serving as showrunner. Ridley Scott, Dan Simmons, David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady also executive produce.
The first season, based on the novel by Dan Simmons, dealt with the famed story of the HMS Terror and HMS Erebus in their attempts to discover the Northwest Passage in 1847. The first season was the number two new drama on cable for the current television season, and one of the most critically acclaimed new shows of last year.
Like the first season, the second will be distributed internationally via Amazon Prime Video.
