– One filmmaker has already weighed in on the Paramount HD-DVD exclusive arrangement – Michael Bay. The “Transformers” director says on his site that “For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me.”

– Matt Damon has denied recent reports that he and Ben Affleck are currently working on another script.

TMZ has learned that Kevin Federline has signed on to guest star on the CW’s hit show, “One Tree Hill.” Shooting starts this week in North Carolina.

– “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling is rumored to working on an Edinburgh-set criminal detective novel according to UK’s The Sunday Times.

– Paramount Pictures will re-release “Transformers” in IMAX theaters on September 21 with more footage than you saw in the conventional theatrical version.

– Much maligned director Uwe Boll responds to a bad review of “Postal” in a rather juvenile and silly way.

– As early as December we could see the release of newly restored and remastered prints of “The Godfather” trilogy.

– Script reviews are out for Scott Pilgrim’s Little Life, TAG, Eagle Eye, Thor.

– There’s a lot of confusion right now as to how to make, let alone market, a patriotic and militaristic “G.I. Joe” film in the current anti-American global environment.
