The Random Spiel: April 15th 2008

A quick thanks to everyone who remembered my 30th birthday on Monday and wrote in, very much appreciated by all. A special thanks goes out to “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau, his partner in crime Robert Downey Jr., and my fellow Time Lord Adam Butler for that signed Iron Man poster – thanks guys.

-The final theatrical poster for the upcoming “The Incredible Hulk” is out and looks very swank.

-John Oritz, Parisse Boothe, Gal Gadot, Sung Kang, Las Alonso, Danny Trejo, Wilmer Calderron and Ted Levine have all joined the cast of the fourth “The Fast and the Furious”.

-For Sydney readers, be sure to check out special screenings of “Cactus” and “21” with Bryan Brown and Kevin Spacey in attendance respectively for a Q&A afterwards. Details can be found here and here.

-The upcoming “Star Trek” film will be PG-13, Steven Spielberg visited the set during shooting scenes on the Enterprise and helped JJ Abrams work out an action scene, and there’ll be at least one Trek reference in the upcoming “Transformers” sequel says Screenrant.

-Gillian Anderson talks about “The X-Files 2” with Maxim Magazine but sadly reveals nothing.

-Guillermo del Toro can’t talk about his connection to “The Hobbit” but things sound close to a done deal. He also covers the topics of film adaptations of “Bioshock” and “Halo”.

-A title treatment is already out for the upcoming film version of the “Twilight” novels.
