Principal photography has officially kicked off on CBS All Access’ upcoming “Star Trek” series which sees Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
The ten-episode run is expected to require five months of filming with shooting to wrap on September 16th. Unlike “Star Trek: Discovery” which shoots in Toronto, the “Picard” series shoots in Los Angeles.
Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway and Isa Briones co-star in the series which is set nearly two decades after we last saw Picard in “Star Trek Nemesis” and explores how the character is impacted by the destruction of Romulus and dissolution of that empire.
Culpepper Hanelle helms the first two episodes while Stewart’s old co-star Jonathan Frakes will direct the third and fourth episodes. The show is expected to debut in the early-mid Fall.
