Last month came word that a second reboot of “Beverly Hills 90210” was in the works, the iconic 1990s high school drama would be coming back and would include original cast members like Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris (basically everyone but Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty).
All we knew at the time was that it was a scripted project from CBS TV Studios that features most of the original cast… but it’s not a traditional reboot. Now, TV Line reports that yes a project is in the works but it’s neither a reboot or revival, rather it’s an hour-long mockumentary-style dramedy featuring the cast playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
The potential series would chronicle the gang’s efforts to get (another) 90210 revival off the ground with everyone playing heightened versions of themselves. No word on potential production or air dates as yet.
